It's not the same as winning the lotto or even the little lotto but there
are rewards offered in fraternal promotional programs. One of our
lodge brothers recently became a lucky winner through an Illinois
Moose Association membership promotion. Bring a new member into
the fraternity and have your name entered into a pool with other spon-
sors each and every time. One name is drawn to receive the monetary
award at the program's conclusion. That is how Brother Daryl Becker
won a $500 offering. Daryl was recently presented with the check at
the lodge. Also, thanks to Daryl for the $500 donation to our lodge.

We have a Breakfast Buffett on the 1st Sunday of each month at our lodge. Why not come out and give it a try. Bring a guest and show them what we have to offer at our lodge.

Creating a lodge web page has been talked about on and off for the past year. Much printed matter is going green, a contemporary term in use. Newspapers are folding and going on e-books as are many magazines and other periodicals. It was only a matter of time till Moose International provided a web page tem-
plate free of charge. The decision was made during October at the Moose Association Officers' meeting in Branson, MO. The web page became available December 1, developed by Moose International Information Services and serviced through the Department of Communications and Public Affairs. Mel Hooper, who can be found in the lodge office early each morning, contacted public affairs, requested and had a lodge web page placed on the internet. Mel then went to work and inserted the newsletter. The web page can be viewed at http://lodge 1339.moosepages.org. Newsprint, printing and mailing costs have risen quite
sharply the past few years. Many banks and service providers suggest going paperless and using email
Electronic communication is pushing print to the sideline. Many fraternal lodges have had a web page for some time and have opted to place their lodge newsletter in their web page as a cost cutting measure. Besides the lodge newsletter, there are links to many other sites including Moose International and Illinois Moose Association web site. Response to a request on the back page of the past two newsletters to contact the lodge and have your email address placed in the computer hasn't been overwhelming;
hopefully our faithful members will respond to this latest request. There will always be a place for direct mail. If you wish a mailing your request will granted. However, using your printer works just as well and saves your lodge money that can be used elsewhere. Please get on your computer, type
Lodge1339@mooseunits.org and give Mel your email address. For all who do not have a computer, don't worry, we will still be mailing newsletters to those who do not have an e-rnail address.

If you want to print a Calendar, while looking at the Month that you want to print, click on File, then Print Preview and change the area where it says Shrink to Fit to 70% and the Calendar should fit on one page, then click on the printer icon at the top of the page in Print Preview.
